Claire Lane

Claire is a seasoned claims professional who has been working in the London Insurance Market since 1985. A strong claims handler who has been involved in a variety of projects encompassing both technical matters, such as commutations and reserve redundancy reviews, and those more internally facing such as system implementations and training.

The first part of her career was spent working for Brokers with exposures to Oil and Gas, Marine and Aviation business. Moving to the London Company market in 1994 expanded Claire’s expertise to a variety of other classes including Personal Accident, Property D&F and APH lines of business

Claire’s experience has predominantly, but not exclusively, been gained in the reinsurance rather than insurance market . She is technically capable of adjusting claims from complex to non complex, lead and follow, for various classes of business, Casualty, Property including Nat Cat response, Marine, Aviation and Asbestos & Pollution. Her attention to detail is particularly beneficial when dealing with TPA’s and bordereaux presentations.

Claire is also conversant with XOL and Proportional contracts and has been responsible for the management of Letters of Credit. Claire’s experience includes ensuring ceded reinsurance contracts are notified and recoveries maximised.

In addition to her technical skills, Claire is a strong operations analyst, being able to identify project needs and ensures they are delivered professionally and on schedule.
