Sarah Barron

Sarah joined the Lloyd’s market in 1983, working for one of the most respected Lloyd’s syndicates in existence at that time. After a few years working on the agency side Sarah moved to the claims function and has been working in the Lloyd’s claims market since 1986, although more recently on a part-time basis whilst her family grew up.

Developing her career within the claims function Sarah became responsible for all aspects of claims handling across a number of classes, including North American property, fine art, personal accident, travel, contingency, MTC/FTC and Specie. Sarah’s experience includes assessing claims on insurance and reinsurance policies whether written as open market or cover-holder business across a number of territories.

With her responsibilities ranging from the appointment and management of experts through to the collection of outwards reinsurance collections and various steps in between Sarah understands the need for proactive claims handling, accurate reserving, and key claims metrics.

Sarah has a comprehensive knowledge of the claims function within the London Market and is competent in the management of the claims bordereaux process and reconciliation of loss funds.

Since joining Belvedere Mead Sarah has undertaken numerous “external” internal Peer Reviews for Managing Agents whose diverse underwriting portfolios have broadened her skill sets further with a variety of classes including PI, FI, Med Mal, Marine and Cyber.
